There’s a disturbing rise in the popularity of portraits
taken by “professional” photographers with little to no training. This day and
age, anyone can buy a camera, put up a website and call themselves a
photographer. By offering “on location”
only shoots and promoting “natural light” portraits only, photographers are
able to cut out a lot of overhead costs, but at what price? It's not always the case, but no studio location and no lighting equipment tends to indicate a lack of formal training, and it also rules out half of the portrait experience you
deserve. Scenic outdoor shoots with
natural light are beautiful, but we would prefer to give you that PLUS
something more. We don’t just understand
lighting (which it is often necessary to supplement, even in outdoor shoots
with “natural light”)- we paint with it.
Photo editing programs and filters can only carry you so far
with a photograph that is not properly lit. Take a look at a few of the
examples from the PPA below :
Like the PPA says:
"If you think it is expensive to hire a professional, wait until you hire an amateur."
